Balance Consulting, Inc. (BCI), established in 1996, is a privately owned company headquartered in Mandeville, Louisiana.  We are available to work nationally and worldwide providing professional consulting and construction services, including planning, engineering, surveying, environmental sciences, program and project management, construction management, and building and civil construction.  Our continual emphasis on balancing the broad spectrum of concerns, from economic and environmental issues to social responsibilities, makes us innovators in the delivery of sustainable solutions.  We support both public and private clients in a diverse range of markets providing turn-key solutions for them from initial concept, cost/benefit options and design to project completion and system maintenance.  Our services are offered through professional and support staff associates and strategic alliances throughout the Gulf South.  Our continued success stems from the ability to consistently provide innovative and flexible solutions with the highest quality of service, on time, and within budget, while maintaining honest communications with our clients.

SERVICES

Design-Build

Design-Build is a project delivery method in which BCI, with its sister company, Southeast Construction Ventures, LLC (SCV), assumes full responsibility for a project from design to construction.  BCI and SCV’s engineering and construction professionals work together as a unified team for the client.   Our collaborative approach captures the time ordinarily lost between design, permit, and construction schedules, and puts it to work for the client in savings and efficiencies.

 

Our design-build service also allows us to provide the client with an understanding of cost, schedule, and scope of work earlier in the design process in order to assess the viability of a project more accurately and far earlier in the process.  This approach delivers tangible benefits from design to completion with quality built into each stage.  It also simplifies the construction process for our clients by providing a single point of contact and accountability on every aspect of the project.

Water & Wastewater Services

BCI has the capability and experience to provide a wide array of water and wastewater engineering, modeling, and construction services with specialized expertise in advanced wastewater conveyance and treatment technologies.  We have completed numerous water and wastewater projects, many involving advanced technologies and practices in treatment, odor control, integrated system planning, and real time monitoring and permitting. We also offer cutting-edge expertise in enhanced nutrient removal processes such as nitrification/de-nitrification and biological nutrient removal (BNR).  Further, our expertise extends into biosolids treatment, management and beneficial re-use options, in addition to advanced disinfection systems, treatment facilities evaluations and innovative problem solving for unique applications, systems, and processes.  We have provided engineering and modeling services for commercial site developments, stormwater collection and detention systems, municipal sanitary and industrial sewer collection and treatment systems, channel evaluations, water distribution systems, watershed planning, drainage impact studies, piping network design, and pump station design to name a few.

Geotechnical Services

BCI’s comprehensive geotechnical services range from field explorations to the design of geotechnical structures.  Our geotechnical expertise includes:

• Geotechnical Structure Design – earthen dams, levee systems, foundations, retention systems, erosion control structures, flood control structures, and landfills.
• Geotechnical Analyses – bearing capacity, settlement, slope stability, seepage, instrumentation, lateral load, soil-structure interaction analyses, and borrow pit qualification.
• Geologic Studies – geologic mapping, hydrogeologic studies, geophysical studies, aggregate source evaluations, karst evaluations, and remedial measures.
